For a tracker definitions some of the attributes should be hidden during project life cycle.

E.g. we have a field that lists different branches to specify the target where the integration should be done.
Over time, older entries will obsolete and should no longer be used. In addition, the number of entries increases - this makes it increasingly unbearable.
Simply removing them is not an option, since this would be falsifies the history because all artifacts with the values need to be modified with a different value.

Therefore depending on the status of the artifact an attribute should be visible or hidden.

Comments

  • We can consider having an option to show/hide the attribute values within tracker settings and will consider this request for future roadmap

  • Any clarification when we can expect an implementation?

  • Hans, in order to address this requirement, for single select and multi select fields within the "Edit Tracker Field" page, we will introduce an action button "Hide" (in addition to the following existing options - Alphabetize, Delete, Add). Selecting an attribute value and then clicking on "Hide" button will hide this value in the dropdown list. If this hidden attribute value has already been selected as an option in the existing artifacts, then they wouldn't be impacted and would still show them selected. Do you think this would work?

  • I think it can work. As far as I understand there is no demand to hide as part of the tracker workflow. So on 'static' tracker definition the listbox value can be selected to be hidden.

  • Hans, thanks for your feedback. We will consider this for 19.3/20.0

  • In TeamForge 20.0, Tracker Admins have the capability to show/hide obsolete values within the single/multi-select custom fields
