During development, the planned release may change. The information about the initial planning gets lost.
Therefore, we request a new field “Planned in Release”. It shall be a system field like “Fixed in Release” which gets the selection list from the existing file releases. THis will give a good overview of the initial and real planning.

Comments

  • Rudi, typically all items that are "Planned in Release" are assigned to a specific Planning Folder and can be tracked that way.

  • Hello Govind
It is true that the planning folder shows the currently planned release.
But my project managers need to know what was the initial planning. It is an important indication how much the project deviated from the initial planning, and the PM needs to explain to the customer which promised features are delayed.

  • Rudi, do you think Baselines feature could help in this regard?

  • Hello Govind
A baseline doesn't help here, we typically create it when the development has finished.
As a work around we could create a tracker attribute, but then we need to synchronize the selection list with the list of file releases, which is a big burden.
Havind the new field "Planned in Release" with the selection list from the existing file releases would help a lot.
