We would like to see that we can configure which fields are shown in the board views (e.g. the kanban board). The project administrator shall be able to configure which fields are shown.

Furthermore it would be helpful to have different views for boards. We have different teams working in projects. Some of them would like to see e.g. remaining efforts in the view, other would like to see e.g. a due date. The board view should not force all the sub-teams of a project to work in exactly the same way.

The board views would need to be part of the project templates to avoid that they have to be configured again and again.

Comments

  • 1. On ability to configure fields for board views, I agree that there is certainly a value in there but we will have to limit to certain system defined fields available for selection. We will consider this for our future roadmap.

    2. In Kanban board view, there is capability to configure multiple board views. I believe once the project admins have the capability to configure fields on these views, there is lot more flexibility and value in having multiple board views

    3. Staring 17.8, there is an option to add Task and Kanban board configuration to the TeamForge project template

  • For field configuration, the comment above says it would have to be limited to certain system defined fields, which is understandable, but if so, a great option would be at a minimum to be able to display tags with the artifacts on the board. When using Kanban, it is often extremely helpful to be able to callout special items beyond just priority. Being able to add tags and have those display would make reading the Kanban board more efficient by being able to visually see these tags. Please consider if this would be an option now that this suggestion has been added to Planned. Thanks.

  • As part of the new Trackers initiative, we are planning to add tag info to the cards in all the board views (Plan, Kanban, Task). The user will also have ability to filter the board views by tags.
